The Shark-9 Servo Gearbox is the most powerful drive in the lineup, featuring a 9:1 external gearbox in continuous rotation mode and a Hitec HSR-M9382TH brushless servo drive. Delivering nine times the torque and precise speed control, it's the ideal solution for the heaviest power applications in the goBILDA system.

Description

The gearbox design completely isolates the servo's internal mechanisms from external influences, transferring the load to a steel hub shaft with two ball bearings. The housing is designed with the goBILDA hole pattern, allowing components to be mounted through M4 threaded holes on either side. The output shaft has an 8mm REX profile to prevent slippage and can be used as a hollow channel for cable routing.

The device is based on the flagship brushless motor with a titanium gearbox, operating in the voltage range up to 8.4 V. Control is carried out via a standard PWM signal: in this mode, the signal controls the speed and direction of rotation, which makes the device compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi and REV controllers.

This model is supplied in continuous rotation mode, but supports software switching to positioning (feedback) mode using the DPC-11 programmer. Due to the lack of internal modifications to the servo, the device is officially approved for use in FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) competitions.

For operation at maximum loads, it is necessary to use an external power source with a minimum output current of 2.7 A. The equipment can be mounted either on the upper hub or directly to the aluminum gear of the gearbox using standard spacers and M4 hardware.
