Description
Function and application. The viscometer measures viscosity using the mechanical resistance of the liquid acting in the direction opposite to the rotational movement of the spindle. This results in a torque that is detected by the viscometer and converted into a viscosity value. Despite the wide measurement range (10…2,000,000 cP or mPa s), the rotational viscometer is a very accurate measuring device with an accuracy of ±1.0%. Thanks to the immersion temperature sensor, the viscometer allows measuring the temperature of the liquids being tested in the range from 0 to 100 °C or from 0 to 212 °F. This viscometer is used, for example, to control the quality of oils. Many oils change their viscosity depending on the temperature. Thanks to the timer function, the rotational viscometer can operate autonomously for a time set by the operator. During this time, the measurement data is transmitted from the rotational viscometer to the PC via the RS232 interface. The software for the rotational viscometer allows the temperature and viscosity profile to be displayed graphically and in a table. Additionally, a printer can be connected to the viscometer to print out the measured values. Advantages: The viscometer can be adapted to a wide range of operating conditions. The viscometer can be leveled using height-adjustable feet so that the measuring spindle is always vertical in the measured medium. For this purpose, a bubble level is provided on the head of the rotational viscometer. The height of the test device can also be adjusted by approximately 25 cm from the viscometer to ensure the correct positioning of the spindle.
