SR-GEARBOX-36-02-14 SWYFT Spike FTC Planetary Gearmotors - 13.7:1 Ratio is a drive from the SWYFT Spike series with a two-stage planetary gearbox and a gear ratio of 13.7:1. This model is designed for high-speed applications that require additional torque compared to direct drive, such as high-speed launch systems, conveyors, and other dynamic mechanisms.
Key Features and Specifications:
- High Speed with Increased Torque: The 13.7:1 gear ratio provides a high output speed of ~438 rpm while maintaining useful torque of ~20.14 kg·cm (at 6000 motor rpm).
- Dual-stage planetary gearset: Provides the optimal combination of efficiency, reliability, and compactness for a given speed and torque range.
- Versatility: Perfect for high-speed flywheel launch systems, fast conveyor take-offs, certain chassis drives, and other mechanisms, requiring high RPMs with confident resistance overcoming.
- Compatibility and Mounting: The housing is equipped with standard M4 and M3 mounting patterns for easy integration with REV and goBILDA components, as well as additional M4 holes for side mounting.
- Output Shaft Flexibility: Comes standard with a 7mm hex socket. A 5mm adapter can be installed to work with REV Motion components.
- FTC Compatible: Officially approved for use in FIRST Tech Challenge competitions.
Technical Data:
- Gear Ratio: 13.7:1
- Output Speed: ~438 rpm (at 6000 motor rpm)
- Output Torque: ~20.14 kg·cm
- Gearbox Type: Planetary, 2 stages
- Motor Type: SWYFT Spike (nominal voltage 12V, no-load current 0.4A max, motor torque 1.47 kg cm)
- Encoder: 2-channel quadrature, 28 PPR, compatible with 3.3V and 5V.
For whom: For FTC teams developing high-speed mechanisms where speed is critical, but greater resistance must be overcome than can be provided by direct drive or lower-ratio gearboxes.
