The STEM Racing Wind Tunnel was designed as a compact, open-frame ultrasonic wind tunnel for tabletop use, complete with a smoke machine. The wind tunnel is designed for teaching aerodynamic principles and studying fluid flow... ideal for STEM racing applications. The wind tunnel features a computer-controlled fan, a data acquisition system, and multiple experimental setups controlled via a touchscreen. The wind tunnel area is 125 mm, with a transparent test section and wind speeds exceeding 35 m/s. Created with a test section optimally sized to accommodate STEM racing car models, the wind tunnel allows student teams to collect real-time aerodynamic data for the development of their vehicle models.
