Description
The CubeSat 2U educational kit, disassembled and packaged, is designed specifically for hands-on learning, where students assemble, program, and test the nanosatellite from scratch. While the demo version focuses on flight, this kit focuses on the learning process: from soldering and component assembly to firmware development and telemetry debugging. The kit includes a CubeSat 2U enclosure (disassembled, with mounting hardware), a microcontroller (ESP32), a set of sensors for measuring pressure, altitude, temperature, acceleration, and orientation, a communication module (LoRa) for transmitting data to a ground station, a breadboard, cables, and assembly instructions. Students complete a full engineering cycle: they study the housing design and electronics layout according to real CubeSat standards, independently connect and calibrate sensors, write code for data collection and transmission, configure the radio channel and ground receiving station, and then test the assembled module in real-world conditions—including integration with an aerostat platform with the appropriate launch kit. This format transforms learning into a project-based activity: instead of a ready-made device, students are given a set of problems—electrical, software, and engineering—the solution of which provides an understanding not only of the operating principles of satellite systems but also practical skills in soldering, embedded system programming, and telemetry.
