The chassis is constructed using 1120 Series U-Channel aluminum extrusions, which house four 5203 Series planetary geared motors (223 RPM). Torque is transmitted to the wheels via titanium-nitride-coated steel bevel gears (miter gears), providing a reliable 90° positive drive. All rotating components are mounted on ball bearings, minimizing friction in the drivetrain.
The shaft and gear system uses an 8mm REX profile, which eliminates component slippage even under extreme loads. The use of 140mm Mecanum wheels with a narrow profile and steel plates allows the chassis to reach a theoretical speed of up to 1.63 m/s, while providing significant ground clearance.
- Assembled weight: 4881 g
- Wheel diameter: 140 mm
- Ground clearance: 46 mm
- Motor type: 5203 Series Planetary Gear Motors (223 RPM)
- Theoretical speed: 1.63 m/s (5.35 ft/sec)
- Transmission material: Steel with titanium nitride coating
- Kit version: 2.0
The chassis is fully compatible with the goBILDA ecosystem, which allows you to install additional equipment, manipulators and sensors directly into the profile openings. The internal motor placement protects them from external influences and impacts during operation.
During assembly, it is recommended to ensure the correct orientation of the Mecanum wheel rollers to ensure proper omnidirectional operation. Thanks to the use of bevel gears with a tensioning mechanism, maintenance and clearance adjustment in the transmission are performed without complete frame disassembly.
